From Barcelona’s Innovation Ecosystem to Expanding into Portugal

April 2026 marked another important chapter in CIRQUEL’s growth journey - one shaped by international expansion, founder visibility, ecosystem collaboration, and deeper conversations around the future of AI, logistics, and circularity. Throughout the month, CIRQUEL continued strengthening its position within Europe’s innovation landscape, with our team participating in high-level accelerator programmes, founder workshops, investment simulations, and international circular economy initiatives across Spain and Portugal.

One of the highlights of the month was CIRQUEL’s participation in the VTEX & BCombinator Demo Day, where our Co-Founder & CEO Anna Warchalowska pitched CIRQUEL among a curated selection of emerging startups building technology-driven solutions across industries. The event brought together founders, investors, operators, and ecosystem leaders, creating an environment focused not only on fundraising and visibility, but also on strategic collaboration and future growth opportunities. For CIRQUEL, the Demo Day was an important opportunity to present our vision of AI-powered post-purchase infrastructure and reverse logistics intelligence - positioning returns, resale, anomaly detection, and circular routing as one of the next critical layers of retail and supply chain innovation.

Another meaningful milestone this month was CIRQUEL’s participation in the Fair Cultures Barcelona Learning Expedition, where Anna Warchalowska represented the company during an intensive workshop and investment simulation organised together with enterprise and institutional partners including FM Logistic, Port de Barcelona, BluetechPort, ABB Robotics, ACCIÓ, and TBS Education. The programme gathered director-level and C-suite leaders from across the world to discuss the future of leadership, automation, sustainability, robotisation, and logistics transformation.

As part of the founder sessions and “Shark Tank”-style simulations, CIRQUEL joined fellow Barcelona-based startups including Grasshopper Air Mobility, Cadence AI, and other innovators exploring the future of intelligent infrastructure and industrial transformation. The experience offered not only the chance to present CIRQUEL’s perspective on reverse logistics and circular systems, but also to gain direct insight into how large enterprises such as FM Logistic view the future of supply chain resilience, automation, and sustainable operations. The workshop reinforced an increasingly visible industry shift: circularity and AI are no longer separate conversations, they are becoming deeply interconnected operational priorities.

April also marked CIRQUEL’s expansion into a new ecosystem: Portugal. We were proud to join the newest cohort of the LX Circular programme in Lisbon, developed together with organizations including Impact Hub Lisbon, Unicorn Factory Lisboa, IES Social Business School, Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, and other ecosystem partners supporting circular innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship.

LX Circular

For CIRQUEL, joining LX Circular is an important strategic step toward expanding our network across the Iberian Peninsula and exploring new opportunities with Portuguese brands, partners, and investors. Portugal’s strong textile and manufacturing ecosystem makes it an especially relevant market for the future of post-purchase infrastructure and reverse logistics intelligence. The programme also aligns naturally with CIRQUEL’s broader European journey - a company conceptually born through Berlin’s startup ecosystem, built and scaled from Barcelona, and now increasingly connecting with innovation communities across Europe.

What connected all these milestones was not simply visibility, but validation. Across accelerator programmes, logistics workshops, investor discussions, and international circular economy initiatives, one message became increasingly clear: the industry is actively searching for smarter ways to manage what happens after the sale. As regulatory pressure, operational complexity, and AI-driven commerce continue evolving, reverse logistics is rapidly becoming one of the defining infrastructures of the next decade.

At CIRQUEL, we are excited to continue contributing to that future - together with founders, institutions, logistics leaders, and circular innovation ecosystems across Europe.

👉 Stay tuned for more updates, product developments, and upcoming milestones as CIRQUEL continues its European expansion journey.
